Platform Lifts

A platform lift is a lift that allows wheelchair-bound users to travel between floors with ease. They needn’t be restricted in their own homes, and it is a government requirement for buildings to have a method of disabled access. A business could face a large fine if they do not cater for disabled users.
It is not always practical to install a typical passenger lift; a building with only a few floors for example wouldn’t require one. Stair lifts are able to lift wheelchair users but only with the aid of someone to carry the wheelchair and help the lift passenger move between chair and lift. A platform lift allows a wheelchair user to independently travel between floors.

Someone who is wheelchair-bound and lives alone is an ideal person to have a platform lift installation. Such a person needn’t move into a bungalow, or employee help to aid them in travelling between floors. People need to be able to move freely within their own home, and platform lifts make this possible.
